A new era in the 112 Emergency Call System
The 112 Emergency Call System, which comes to the rescue of citizens in their most difficult moments, has been given a stronger, faster and more coordinated institutional structure with the new regulation.
Minister Çiftçi announced that 112 Emergency Call Centers serving in 81 provinces have been transformed into independent "Provincial 112 Emergency Call and Coordination Directorates" affiliated with the Governorships. With this step, it is aimed to carry out the emergency management in the provinces from a single source, with a more effective and authorized structure.
Drawing attention to the current capacity of the system and the size it has reached, Minister Çiftçi stated that the organization responds to approximately 100 million calls a year with nearly 15 thousand personnel and successfully provides intervention and coordination of more than 31 million cases.
Çiftçi emphasized that the system that manages a huge operation will be carried into the future with artificial intelligence-supported technologies, strengthened communication infrastructure and high-level integration between institutions.
Underlining that there is a race against time in emergency situations, Minister of Internal Affairs Mustafa Çiftçi said, "We know that every second is valuable in emergency situations. Our goal is to respond faster to our citizens' calls for help and to immediately mobilize all the resources of our state when needed."
Minister Çiftçi wished that this structural transformation, which was implemented for the peace of the nation and the security of life and property, would be beneficial to the country.
